Sorry, there was a blog pause yet again…a tad busy doing le work et la vie. For now, I can share the best cover I have heard of Depeche Mode’s “Enjoy the Silence”. I think the French do an awesome job at New Wave music covers. Remember Nouvelle Vague ? Never mind that it would be a sort of musical religious experience listening to this song in a church.
Here is Moriarty, a French Folk band. The clip was produced by what I think is is an interesting French music blog: La Blogoteque, some time ago I posted Beirut’s Nantes performance on a Paris street (sorry do not know how to link back…more like, I just need to figure it out)
As for how I came across the song, it was through my bureau neighbours; they have fine music taste, from what I have heard them play, and I like their reel.
