According to the Sun UK Karl Lagerfeld has met with Lilly Allen since he is planning to make her the face of Chanel for 2007. (Please note that I do not think the Sun UK is a source of reliable fashion news.)
Remember the Lindsay Lohan scare? Though Mr. Lagerfeld might like to very publicly entertain whims like this one: “Karl Lagerfeld is convinced her signature style — chav meets couture — is going to be THE look of 2007.”, the last word is not had by him. The man responsible for translating Coco Chanel’s sentiment that “A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous.” into worldwide visual campaigns is Jacques Helleu, Chanel’s all too full of taste and class artistic director. And don’t forget The Creat Cat Power Chanel Fragrance Scare of October 2006. I wonder if Karl Largerfeld saw Lily Allen smoking in front of a hotel or if he is actually aware of her music career?
